What kind of data will you collect, and why?
Information about you, your symptoms, heart rate, and steps/activity levels will be collected. This data will be used to help detect and track the spread of COVID-19.
What is the duration of the study?
For up to 12 months you will receive a daily message to complete a short survey. If you connect a smartwatch (wearable), we will retrieve 12 months of data historically and 12 months moving forward.
What if I’ve already had COVID-19? Can I still participate?
Absolutely! Your smartphone and wearables data from that time period is still available and will be incredibly helpful to this study!
What is the expected time commitment?
The surveys should take you less than 1 minute per day to complete.
Will I be compensated for participating?
Unfortunately, you will not. However, your participation and data will help us learn how to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Will the study be available in other languages?
Yes! Coming soon in Spanish, French, German, Polish, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, and Hindi.
Will my data be protected?
Yes, your data will be stored on Duke University protected servers behind a firewall.
Who will see my data?
